  1. Today’s Meeting

February 4, 2013 by Andrew Kettle

Today I had a meeting with our media production group members tutor. This was to basically make sure i am kept up to date with planning for the film production. The main points that were spoke about in this discussion were:

    – Location for the shoot

    – Character profiling

    – Test recording

    – Shooting script & shooting schedule

Not all of these are 100% related to the audio side of the film production but I am happy to be kept up to date with the production of the film behind the scenes.  This can only benefit me either way.

We discussed how in the next couple of weeks prior to shooting the film, me and Ash will both visit the locations (once chosen) of the shoot and carry out some test recordings so we know what kind of room atmosphere we are recording in. We will also see which mic positions and recording techniques apply best to the audio being recorded. Prior to undergoing test recordings, I have begun my research into recording sound for film productions. This research will consist of both location recording and foley sound recording.

Once I have had the go ahead from the film production members about locations and shooting dates the production will begin. Until this the group will continue meeting and discussing ideas etc, as well as completing research towards this project.
